Join us for the July edition of LONG STORY LONG, hosted by Eli Reiter, at 61Local, 61 Bergen St, Brooklyn, NY 11201!

There are many storytelling shows out there that offer a slice of life. At the corner of Fringe Festival Street and The Moth Avenue, Eli Reiter offers us a larger piece of the pie giving each performer 25 minutes to tell their story. Long Story Long allows you, the audience, to get to know the storyteller a little better.

Featuring: Nisse Greenberg, Meliora Dockery, and Jefferson Bites

About the Performers

A sex educator and writer, Jefferson Bites keeps a pseudonymous blog, One Life, Take Two, that details his life as a parent and pervert. He is a storyteller frequently seen on stages around the city and elsewhere, including The Moth, where he is a StorySlam winner. He is host of Bare! True Stories of Sex, Desire and Romance in Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. and Foreplay! A Sexy Storytelling Open Mic, biweekly at The Delancey.

Mel Dockery comes from a long line of story tellers and is happy to have passed on the tradition to future generations. She only broke into the public story telling arena in September. Since then she has participated in Moth Slams, Grand Slams and appeared on Andy Chrisie’s “The Liar Show”. She has also participated in Tim O’Mara’s “We 3 Productions” and Robin Bady’s “Bady House Concerts”.

Nisse Greenberg likes to write his bios because it feels like he's applying for a new job which implies that maybe his life will change soon. It's not that he's not happy with his life, he just is often mesmerized by the idea of change. When he is in an airport he often has urges to buy plane ticket to somewhere, anywhere. It's for this reason, probably, that he starts so many shows and keeps them openish like books left ajar on the coffee table. Can books be ajar? Here are his ajar books: Drawn Out Storytelling, Bad Feelings, VHS Presents, Rachel and the Elf. Mostly it's easy to check up on him on his website that is a lot like a playground: nissegreenberg.com. The first 5 places he lived after his parents were across the street from playgrounds. That's an exaggeration in terms of numbers, but not in terms of spirit.
