Storytelling @ The Tank

The Tank currently supports several monthly storytelling events for the growing community of performers dedicated to the oldest artform in the world. With performers from The Moth Radio Hour, This American Life, RISK!, Snap Judgement, and many other storytelling shows around the city, our monthly shows bring together the brightest minds of this burgeoning artform. We also support single-evening full-length storytelling events.

Our signature ongoing series are:

Dingmantics: Sam Dingman hosts this monthly open-mic as part of his storytelling podcast "Dingmantics." ( Each month, four randomly-selected storytellers will take the stage, followed by a featured performer to close the show. All stories will be recorded for possible inclusion on the podcast, and every performer will take home a recording of their piece. At Branded Saloon in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Bad Feelings is a storytelling show hosted by Nisse Greenberg that asks us to analyze how important it is to like your storyteller. These are the stories where the teller remains the bad guy/girl. These are the stories that leave us with a dirty pit in our stomach. These are the stories that don't make you feel good - they make you feel bad.

VHS Presents: Angel Yau takes us into the young minds of comedians, filmmakers, and storytellers by watching the videos they made as future struggling artists and telling the stories behind it before. From movie re-enactments to cable access shows to school projects to simply home videos. Each month, four storytellers get to show videos they worked hard on pre-youtube days and reflect on how they've grown today. At Videology, in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
