Campy With A Cause: A Point Break Fundraiser For Pancreatic Cancer Research

UTAH, GET ME $20,000. The recent news of Patrick Swayze's pancreatic cancer diagnosis shocked the world. Perhaps the only silver lining is that for those affected by this disease, it proved an opportunity to give the fourth most fatal cancer in America its due attention. Therefore, The Tank, Metro News and Will Silverman present Campy for a Cause: A Point Break Fundraiser. Please join us on Tuesday, June 3rd at 8PM at The Tank Theater in Tribeca for a screening of Patrick Swayze's classic Point Break, the definitive film in the surfing bank robber vs. ex-quarterback/FBI agent genre. Tickets are $100 and all proceeds will benefit the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research. Drinks will be provided by Bulldog Gin. The suggested donation for this event is $100.

The Tank's film and video series screens new work from emerging filmmakers and video artists, as well as films and videos from established independent image makers. There is no real selection criteria. We screen all genres and lengths on 16mm, DV, DVD, and VHS in a pinch.
