Placed amongst an ever-shifting landscape of light, M+M Labs throws us into the psyche of someone at the moment when they stop fighting their inner demons, and choose to walk forward with them side-by-side. Choreographed in collaboration with it’s 10 dancer cast, this piece fuzes dance, spoken word and live music (produced by Neha Shastri) in a captivating combination of physical power and emotional vulnerability. This is the story of someone stepping across Shel Silverstein’s Bridge.
Nicole Baker - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Nicole received her BFA in dance performance from Adelphi University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. At AU, she performed the works of Martha Graham, Orion Duckstein, Takehiro Ueyama, Paul Taylor, and Jiří Kylián. Currently, she serves as the Rehearsal Director and Company Manager for Eryc Taylor Dance and their outreach program ETD Outreach.
Her most recent commercial credits include starring in Louis van Amstel's La Blast for DailyBurn, Amazon's The Marvelous Ms. Maisel, and performing background for popstar Meredith O'Connor during New York Fashion Week and the United Nations Youth Summit. Nicole also works for project-based choreographers Jaclyn Walsh (KEIGWIN + COMPANY), Chris Bell, Amy Marshall, Kristina Harris, and Hollye Bynum (of bones).
Anastasia Clark - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Anastacia Clarke, born and raised in Portland, ME, is inspired by her amazing mother who raised her and her two older siblings all on her own! Love you mom! Anastacia attended Dean College, completed Alvin Ailey's summer intensive, and graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Since graduating, Ana has become fully immersed in the fitness and dance world in NYC. She loves theater and film, traveling, Tates cookies and her dog Daisy! She is thrilled to be working with Natalia and hopes everyone enjoys the show! :)
Jimmy Crowell - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Jimmy, born and raised in Texas, moved to New York to attend school at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and got his degree in TV/Film Acting. In the four years as a transplant, he has been graced to dance/choreograph/act for live productions and new media, walk in NYFW, and sign with Clear Talent Group. It is his pleasure to be a part of Natalia's production, not only because of her talent, but her beautiful soul.
Nuria Martin Fandos - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Núria Martin Fandos (Barcelona) earned a Contemporary Dance degree from Institut del Teatre. In 2013 she won the 1 st prize of III Certamen International Ciutat de Barcelona that honored her with a 2-year full scholarship for Peridance Certificate Program (New York) where she graduated as Excellence with Honors. She danced pieces from internationally choreographers such as Charlotta Övferholm, Lali Ayguade and Cindy Salgado. Núria had the privilege to work on stage, television and commercials including Toys “R” Us Children’s Fund Gala 2016 (Martin Short and Paul Shaffer), THINX, Bugaboo Donkey’s Street Campaign, Kevin Powell’s TheEducationofMe Street Marketing and Television of Catalunya. Núria also has been a featured dancer in Nano Stern’s Chant for Peace music video, and collaborated with
Pedestrian Wanderlust and Yesid Lopez for dance videos.
Currently she is a member of Michiyaya Dance Company and a guest artist for BAREDANCE Company, Suku Dance Lab, BalaSole, De Funes Dance and Estado Flotante. Núria choreographs and presents her own work internationally and has collaborated with Elisabeth Motley’s solo “Day, night and everything” and ATELLER’s She’s music video.
AJ Guevara - Dancer + Co-choreographer
AJ Guevara is a New York-based artist hailing from California’s central coast. He earned his BFA in Dance & Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University, trained at the Accademia dell’ Arte (Arezzo, Italy), and was a scholarship recipient at the American Dance Festival. He has had the privilege of performing the works of Rachel Erdos, Bill T. Jones, Chris
Bell, Jodi Melnick, Walter Matteini, Paul Emerson, Joshua L. Peugh, Robert J. Priore, Chia Ying Kao, Thomas Noone, and Shen WeI, among others.
His work with Company|E, in partnership with US State Department, has allowed AJ to serve as an artistic diplomat for cultural exchange. He’s travelled to Israel, Cuba,The United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Palestine, using movement as a vehicle for cultural diplomacy. Through organizations such as Gibney and ETD Outreach, he teaches movement throughout New York City and advocating for social equity, mental health awareness, and movement inclusivity for disabled movers & special populations.
Ivy Ledon - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Ivy is a Miami, FL native, who was greatly influenced by the teachings of her childhood dance studios “Danie Becks Dance Unlimited, New Image Dance Company” and her high school
alma-matter “New World School of the Arts.” She trained in commercialized dance and competed with her childhoods’ elite dance team around the nation, winning her numerous awards like “Top 10 Soloists”, “Choreographers Choice Award”, and her most cherished: highest scoring dancer also known as the “ICON Award.” During that time, she was also training in the
contemporary arts from her alma-matter “NWSA”, with technical training in Ballet, Pointe, Limon, Graham, and Horton. She’s worked with choreographers such as Peter London, Robert Battle, Daniel Lewis, and Tina Santos, to name a few. Ivy has worked as a passionate teacher for dance studios around the Miami area until becoming the Dance Director and Team Coach at the Robert Morgan Educational Center. In 2017 Ivy moved to Brooklyn, NY and began working as a Master Instructor at “((305)) Fitness NYC”, a free-lance dancer and model.
Nicole Morris - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Nicole Morris was born and raised in Sarasota, FL where she started dancing at the ripe age of 3. Nicole attended Florida State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance in 2014. Since then Nicole has been dancing her way around the Big Apple! She works closely with Kristin Sudeikis and Jackie Nowicki. She has performed industrial gigs with Brooks Brothers, Nike and the Footlocker brand, Six 02. Nicole has been a featured dancer in People StyleWatch Magazine and continues to pursue her career in the commercial dance the her agency CESD.
Hassiem Muhammad - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Hassiem Muhammad is a native of Columbia, SC. After graduating from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Acting, Hassiem moved up to New York City to begin his career as an actor. Although his degree is in acting, Hassiem has been dancing since he was twelve, and while at UNCSA would audit classes, and even performed with the Contemporary Dance majors! Currently working at Lincoln Center Education as a Teaching Artist Fellow.
Brittany Posas - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Brittany Posas, hails from Costa Rica and was raised in North Carolina. She holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Exercise and Sports Science and is a NASM certified Personal Trainer. She is also an Independent Study graduate from the Ailey School and a scholarship graduate of the American Dance Festival. Brittany's is currently based in NYC, where some of her most notable highlights include dancing abroad at the International Arts Festival in Yerevan, Armenia with Jking Dance Company, performing as a principal character in Mary John Frank's immersive theatre production "Debutuant" and her work as a
prominent member of Kinetic Cabaret Productions, who most recently performed at the Bryant Park Contemporary Dance Festival and at Dixon Place with their production "Wonder/Through the Looking Glass Houses" where Brittany had the opportunity to play the Mad Hatter. Brittany is also one of the founding members of MobPo Dance Collaboration, an up and coming project dance company. In addition to her career as a professional dancer, Brittany is a passionate fitness professional, SLT instructor, stretch therapist, aspiring lyra aerialist, and is in the midst of completing her Yoga Teacher Certification.
Ellie Weinmann - Dancer + Co-choreographer
Ellie Weinman was raised a barefoot flower child in Eugene, Oregon. Ellie has extensive training in contemporary, hip-hop, acrobatics, contact improvisation, modern, and musical theater. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in choreography and performance from the University of Montana. In 2015, Ellie’s choreography was selected to be performed at the annual American College Dance Festival in Greeley, CO. Ellie danced professionally with Bare Bait Dance, Headwaters Dance Company and MASC ARTISANS. She was hired to dance at VidCon YouTube Festival two years in a row, and has performed in regional musicals including The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Chicago, and The Legend of Orpheus: The Opera.
Neha Shastri - Musician
Neha Shastri is a vocalist and composer based in based in Brooklyn, New York. Having grown up in various places and cultures including New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Australia and Italy before relocating to NYC to study at The School of Jazz at The New School- Neha’s sound and tastes are shaped by the diversity of her upbringing. She is inspired by everything from classical sitar and bebop to 90s hip hop and electronic music driven by synthesisers and drum machines. In 2012 she founded The S5th Collective; a Brooklyn based artists collective providing an inclusive environment for artists to showcase multidisciplinary work including modern and classical dance, jazz music, opera, folk, electronic explorations and visual art, hosting performances by the likes of; Reggie Watts, Moon Hooch, Aaron Parks, Loft Opera and Manu Delago. In 2018, Neha debuted a new solo project in order to explore the latent beauty in minimalism by moving away from more structured songwriting and diving into the world of soundscapes. Using her voice and sparse electronics, Neha invites her audience to embark on a kaleidoscopic journey of sound by creating immersive and ethereal atmospheres in which to lose themselves.
Natalia Roberts - Director + Main Choreographer
Natalia began dancing at the age of 20 while going to Washington University in St. Louis for architecture. She joined the resident dance company, Slaughter Project, and worked her way from apprentice to soloist before graduating and moving to NYC. There she completed the 2-year Peridance Certificate program. Natalia has performed work from Charlotte Öfverholm, Robert Battle, Cheryl Copeland, Tony Bordelo, Francesco Dario & Michele Oliva and Caterina Rago among others. In 2016 Natalia was selected as a Mare Nostrum emerging choreographer creating works for LPAC, The Tank and Peridance theater among others. Natalia has spent the last year creating pop-up dances in galleries and non-traditional spaces around NYC. She has worked as dancer and choreographer for companies such as MakeupForever, DevaCurl, Lights Resolve and Tiny Giant Productions. This is her first full-length production.
